Black Girls Leadership Academy Academic Fellowship
Program Description
The BGLA Academic Fellowship offers students the opportunity to engage in various aspects of our organization. Fellows will work closely with our Academy leaders, educators, and mentors to support the growth and development of the BGLA's curriculum, mentorship programs, and leadership initiatives. They will be actively involved in planning, implementing, and assessing activities that promote leadership, confidence, and academic excellence among Black Girls and Women Nationwide.
Duration
The Academic Fellowship will be offered for a duration of 3 months, 6 months, or one academic year with the possibility of extension based on performance and mutual agreement.
Academic Credit
Students may be eligible to earn academic credit based on the policies of their academic institution. Upon successful completion of the fellowship, a certificate of participation and recommendation letter will be provided. Sectors and Tasks could include:
Curriculum Development: Assist in the creation and enhancement of curriculum materials focused on leadership, empowerment, and personal development tailored for Black Girls.
Program Implementation: Collaborate with the academy team to organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and events that promote leadership skills and empowerment which consists of the following:
Mental Health & Counseling
Health & Wellness
Social Support
Policy & Advocacy
Business Entrepreneurship
Communications and Marketing: Develop and manage content for all BGLA Social Media Platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, & LinkedIn) and BGLA Monthly Newsletter.
Research Analysis: Conduct research to improve academy initiatives and create evaluation methods.
Event Planning: Assisting with the mission, vision, theme, sponsorships, speakers and overall support of the ELEVATE Summit.
